Nine Mile Historic Cemetery
As a challenge to myself, I set a plan in motion to try and take photos of random cemeteries in October every Fall. This will my second year since I set the challenge for myself.
I figured a perfect way for me to practice my photography....take a stroll through history and just enjoy the peace, quiet and beauty of these little landmarks we far to often take for granted.
The Nine-mile historic Cemetery happened to be on our route during our 24th Anniversary weekend. Located at the base of Dobson pass...We almost missed this little gem in the woods as we were headed for Wallace. Luckily, I caught the cemetery out of the corner of my eye and my honey obliged me and turned around.
What surprised me the most was the steepness of the cemetery and how the graves are tiered up the hillside and how old most of the headstones were dated.
We were greeted by the melodic sound of windchimes and the rustle of fluttering falling leaves on the day we visited.
A peaceful visit for sure!
